WHY CHOOSE LIBELULA?
Parents have many choices regarding which daycare to choose. Ideally, it would be one that enriches their child's childhood. Let me suggest you also enrich their adulthood! Children learn languages differently and more quickly than adults. Becoming bilingual in childhood is a gift that will last a lifetime as your child is able to use his or her second language to travel the world, expand his or her career options, and, in general, succeed better in school due to the way second language learning improves cognition.
Our school is a state-licensed in home child care facility, which means that we receive inspections and follow the same kinds of rules as commercial facilities. Our license number is 1733766.

About Our Spanish Classes
Libélula Spanish School offers full-time child care and a dual language preschool program. Each are designed to teach children Spanish through songs, stories, hands-on activities, art, and play! You will not find a group of my students copying vocabulary from a book. I aim to engage them in more meaningful ways than book work.
My goal, however, isn't just to offer Spanish classes. I aim to partner with parents to help them raise bilingual children.
My overall goal is to walk alongside children as they journey toward Spanish language proficiency.
I have designed my program to focus on language acquisition.

ABOUT US
¡Hola, Padres!
My name is RaShae Smith. I founded Libélula Spanish School because I believe in the importance of all Texans knowing English and Spanish in the 21st century. Young children are natural language sponges. They are eager to learn and studies show that they absorb language much faster than adults, especially before the age of 8. This is the perfect time to introduce a foreign language to your child! My students learn through songs, stories, and most importantly play!
I am not a native Spanish speaker. I understand what it feels like to approach a brand new language with no knowledge whatsoever. I took my first Spanish class as a high school Freshman and fell in love with it. I continued studying Spanish at Lubbock Christian University, graduating with a degree in education in 2009. Today I am a certified Spanish teacher who enjoys sharing her love of Spanish with others.
I have been married to my wonderful husband Joshua for 11 years. We have 3 beautiful children: Autumn (9 years old), Lily (6 years old), and Jackson (3 year old). Our family attends The Hills Church.
